Fifteen Score

I’ll get it out of the way: 300 is good. Not great, but really good. I wanted to like it more than I did, but its comic-book dialogue really stands out in the big screen. I don’t mean that in a good way, either: the phrase “Give them nothing! But take from them everything!” is cool and all, but after 100 minutes of vein-popping intensely delivered lines like that the testosterone loses a bit of its punch. It’s still cool, and the action scenes are nicely done, especially when the director let’s the action roll. I’m not a fan of the “sloooooooow-mo setup into fast-motion death” style of editing, and this movie certainly didn’t make a believer out of me. It’s forced coolness, and even though I was impressed Mr. Snyder made it work more often than not, I still prayed some asian art director came through halfways through the movie and showed him how it was supposed to be done.  All in all, and judging by the kind of money the movie is bringing in, I don’t feel I need to sell this movie to you. Either you were already planning on seeing it, or you weren’t. If you were, you will not be disappointed. If you weren’t, I’m afraid there’s not enough to make you change your mind. Either way, know that this man will be handling the Watchmen movie, and on that alone, 300 may be worth your while, if only so you have a reference point to fantasize on how cool it might be.

a watchmen movie, I pitty the director…for a while I hoped that all my favorite books could become a movie but now I think that they shouldn´t be compare, and the format it´s totally different so this things don´t excite me anymore…

I know that comics are different they are more easy to adapt because the storyboard is already done, but is a big comic and for sure they´re gonna cut some parts to do the movie… and bla bla bla I don´t want to sound like a comunist (ja) but people keed doing stupid things in adaptation to atract public… when this books already have a big bunch of fans !…

That movie is a joke, and I know it’s supposed to be; but it’s redundant, with far too many chauvinist pig innuendos, CGI blood and superabundance of greek abs for me to give a damn.

Nice Smeagol’s lost cousin cameo though.
